En-Me-Barage-Si

En-me-barage-si is the earliest ruler in the Sumerian king list confirmed independently via epigraphical evidence.

According to the Sumerian Tummal Chronicle, En-me-barage-si is said to have built the first temple in Nippur (נפר); Akkadian: Nibbur (נעבר) logographically recorded as EN.LIL.KI (ענ.ליל.חי); "lord [of the] night wind or city" with the Sumerian term KI (חי); "city" as a variation of the same Hebrew root-stem term for town of HO [1](חו); "town."
