Since “....it is clear by the Nahuatlan and Mayan legends that Quetzalcoatl; Kukulkan in Mayan lore had come to their lands with a small band of followers, and that Quetzalcoatl/Kukulkan’s eventual departure was a forced departure - an exile imposed by the War God. Zecharia Sitchin indicates that Quetzalcoatl/Kukulkan as Thoth whose arrival was also the result of a forced departure, an exile, out of Thoth’s native land, Egypt. The date of that first event is a vital component of the Mesoamerican counts of time.

The 365 day Mayan Haab calendar in some circles can be referred to as an Annus Vagus; “wandering year” calendar since similar to the ancient Egyptian calendar which also had a 5 day intercalary month (epagomenae) inserted in the year, the Mayan Haab 365 day calendar was almost a quarter of a day shorter than the solar year thus apparently incurring wandering or drift.
The original ideal of the Egyptian New Year is based upon dividing the year centered upon the winter solstice into 3 parts; 365.2424 solar days, the average interval of the vernal equinox to vernal equinox or winter solstice to winter solstice as in this case. Then dividing by 3 the solar year into 3 equal seasons of 121.666… days each centered upon December 21st and then minus 4 months and plus 4 months yielding the 1st/3 Egyptian seasons of Akhet (אחת; sister); “inundation” beginning August 22nd as the 1st day of the 1st Egyptian month of 1 Thoth (תחת); Thoth the Egyptian New Year, concluding on December 21st the season of Akhet, and the 2nd/3 Egyptian seasons of Peret (פרת; fruit); “growth” or “winter” beginning December 22nd and concluding April 23rd and the 3rd/3 Egyptian seasons of Shemu (שמו; name or heaven); “harvest” or “summer” the remaining last third of the Egyptian year.
By this method the 1st day of the Egyptian New Year is always known and fixed; not apparently wandering or drifting. The Ancients knew this simple math as there is a multitude of temples and monuments in Egypt attesting to such knowledge of the solstices and equinoxes. The ancients used the consecutive day counts to commemorate a significant past event in memoriam e.g. the installing of a king or pharaoh, in this case the date of the ascension of Pharaoh (פרעה) Menes.
Those classes, masses and workers who attempt to comment about the apparent so-called wandering or drift of a 365 day consecutive continuous counting system are only imitating an external numerical machination without reverence or reference to the original holistical context of the overall Egyptian feudal cultural civilization to which this event marks the beginning of the installment of the 1st dynasty of Egypt.
